Margaret Jaberg bought her first real estate in 1989, her first rental in 1990, and currently owns property from Milwaukee to Ashland in Wisconsin as a sole owner or General Partner.  She also holds LP investment shares in several syndicated national real estate portfolios.  Margaret excels in the asset management role of her holdings.

At the start of her career, Margaret worked her way through college in food service.  Upon graduating she moved into management eventually becoming the Director of Purchasing for 9 fast food and 2 fine dining restaurants as well as a commissary operation that supported festival and grocery sales.  She took that negotiating and contracting experience with her into a career in banking starting at Firstar (now US Bank) then to M&I Bank (now BMO Harris) where she ultimately managed some of the largest and most complex CRE transactions including new construction for national developers, syndications and over-line lending to correspondent banks via participations with a portfolio in excess of $700 million.  As the 2008 recession worsened, she wound down that portfolio to half its previous size through strategic attrition and avoiding losses for the bank.

Margaret chose to leave banking as the national economy and its regulators were reshaping the commercial real estate lending world.  After a brief stint at a sailing school, she returned to commercial real estate by working with attorneys and developers active in the Wisconsin commercial real estate market as a transaction manager coordinating all the various tasks and parties to get deals closed.

Serving her community is important to Margaret.  While working at M&I Margaret also served as the Village President of Brown Deer, WI.  During her two terms as Chief Elected Official, she chaired the Plan Commission, Community Development Authority, North Shore Fire Department and the Intergovernmental Cooperation Council of Milwaukee County.  Under her leadership, the Village implemented a Redevelopment Plan for an idle Tax Increment Financing District and created two new TIF Districts with base values of $23 and $17 million as part of her economic development efforts.  Margaret still remains active as the President of the Brown Deer Foundation.

Margaret has the highest ethical standards and is honored to have earned the trust to purchase on behalf of a corporation, to lend a bank’s money and to manage public funds during her career.  Further, she knows there are real people behind every project she’s taken on and she understands the value of their time and commitment.  In her own words, “I respect every business owner, borrower or developer who pursues their vision and I’m proud to be a part of their support network as they do so.”

Margaret enjoys solving problems and overcoming challenges whether it’s unraveling tough issues to get real estate deals closed or on the bow of a 30 foot yacht in Lake Michigan during a national sailing championship.
